Online Training
Forklift Operator License
OSHA Guideline 1910.178 for Powered industrial trucks (forklifts), requires that operators be trained and authorized by their employer prior to using the equipment. Computer Based Training can help individuals, staffing agencies, unions, companies and other organizations to deliver this important safety training to operators. The Forklift University online class is designed to provide either general training or lift specific training options. The information in this training has been developed form 20 years of forklift operator and trainer classes. It will provide 100% compliant instruction providing operators with general knowledge of safe lift operations. Regardless of where you take your classroom or theory training, operators will still need to review company and facility safe operations and pass a hands on evaluation of their operating skills, on the lift(s) they will be using on the job. This class will take about 90 minutes, and will require the student to pass a test with a score of 70% or better. When completed, the student will receive a temporary license along with an evaluation form that can be used by the employer to document the evaluation process.
Aerial Operator License
Beginning in 2020, OSHA adopted the new ANSI Standards for aeril safety. The new ANSI standard, A92.22 A92.24, requires that operators, occupants and supervisors receive training prior to use of an aerial lift on the job site.
This new standard changed the name of aerial lifts to Mobile Elevating Work Platform, MEWP, and re-classified scissor lifts, boom lifts, bucket trucks and forklift work platforms.
Operators MUST have a safety training and an evaluation prior to use. The Forklift University MEWP computer based training course is ANSI and OSHA compliant and will provide training certification for any MEWP lift type.
Forklift Specific Classes
Stand-up Reach
The stand-up reach forklift is for narrow aisle operations. The operator stands in the compartment and controls the lift with hand controls. For general reach truck training select this option.
Pallet Jack
Electric pallet jacks, walkie riders, walkie stackers require different training from a standard forklift. This training focuses on this lift group topics.
Order Picker Turret Truck
Turret trucks and order pickers are classified as powered industrial trucks, forklifts, but they function very differently and have training components similar to aerial lifts. Operators should have specific training on this type of lift, as well as fall protection training.
Telehandler
The Telehandler is a rough terrain constructiion site forklift. Operators must know the special use, functions and stability issues associated with this lift. This class reviews the general safe operations of this lift.
Truck Mounted
The Truck Mounted forklift is a unique type of forklift. Operators must know the special use, functions and stability issues associated with this lift. This class reviews the safe operations of the Moffett, Piggyback, Selig and other truck mounted forklifts.
MEWP Personnel Classes
Occupant
The new ANSI Standard for Mobile Elevating Work Platforms, requires that any passenger in an aerial lift that is not a trained operator, MUST have a safety familiarization class.
This class is a short familiarizaiton of each type of MEWP designed for occupants.
Supervisor
The new ANSI Standard for Mobile Elevating Work Platforms, requires supervisors receive training on inspection requirements, job hazard analysis and the proper selection of lifts for the job site.
This class is a short review of these topics for supervisors.
