Stand Up Reach Certification Training

Stand Up Reach operators can take advantage of this single lift type class if they only operate this type of lift or if it is an add-on to their General Forklift Training. This class reviews Class II P.I.T.'s, electric narrow aisle trucks. OSHA guidelines require that operators be trained on the lift they will operate, and this lift type is not included in the general class. This general standup reach class is valid for any brand of Stand Up Reach. Still, your company evaluator should review the specific controls for the lift you will use during your evaluation.

stand up reach

Stand-up reach forklifts have a unique operating method and come in many versions with special features for deep racks and narrow aisles. The reach function and outriggers can cause unique hazards for untrained operators, and traveling in the standing position adds to the dangers.

The training in this class is targeted to stability, load handling, and narrow aisle issues. Some brands of reach lifts require the operator to turn facing the rear of the lift while traveling with a load. Tip-over procedures for this lift differ from the standard sit-down counterbalance lift. These lifts are not used in loading enclosed trailers and are not used outside on uneven or rough surfaces.
