Truck Mounted Lift Certification Training
Truck-mounted forklifts are also known as Piggybacks, Donkeys, and Moffet trucks. They are designed to support construction operations, helping delivery operators unload their flatbeds in rough terrain. Truck-mounted forklifts are NOT counterbalanced and do not fall under the other training programs.
Truck-mounted forklifts are a Class VII PIT used in the delivery process to transport product from the truck, trailer, or flatbed to the yard or customer site. These lifts are uniquely designed to be lighter than a standard counterbalance, and they carry the load within the wheelbase, creating unique tip-over hazards.
These lifts have special procedures for loading and unloading them from the back of a flatbed trailer and must be secured properly before the truck can continue to the next destination.
